Ike had a lovely house and yard in his former home but ended up in an apartment with no yard and little exercise.  His previous owner felt he needed a better life so she surrendered Ike to ATRA.  Ike is now looking for a new home with a yard for him to run and play (preferably fenced).  He is a very sweet guy that gives great hugs and cuddles.  He is housebroken, loves his treats, and knows a few commands such as sit and shake.  He enjoys car rides and sits very quietly in the back seat watching the world go by.  He was also great at the vet’s office.  He is staying at a board/train kennel where he is learning better manners on the leash.  He is a favorite with the folks there and they describe him as a loving, gentle soul.  He definitely enjoys people’s company and he would do best in a home with older kids.  Ike loves a game of bitey face and rough housing with larger dogs but not with the smaller pooches.  Ike is just an all round great guy!
