Colt is a big boy, at around 80 pounds and will turn 8 years old in May.

Colt will not go to a house with young children, but would probably do fine with respectful teenagers. He will not do well with small animals, cats, or small dogs. He has been seen  watching small animals in his yard!

Colt was surrendered because he growled/snapped at the female Cairn terrier over food in his original home. They were also afraid he would bite their young kids because he would growl when the kids got in his space. He has never bitten anyone! It was also said that he didn't like other dogs and was very reactive towards them on leash.

He is currently at a board and train and is learning new things and being a really good boy! He loves the staff members and is great for grooming! He was a little skeptical about his feet and face, but with more practice, he should do just fine! The handlers have not had any issues with him. He is currently walking and responding fantastically to the prong collar. He is pack walking with other dogs and hasn't had any issues. He does focus with intent on small animals and puppies whining. He is also being reintroduced to the crate!

He has had a few brief play sessions with the trainer's dog. Colt approaches with interest and very confident body language. They bounce and play bow a bit, then go into playful muzzle biting. He seems surprised to have his energy matched and ends the play by walking away and shaking off. After this, he usually loses interest in the play and looks for other stimulation. I think with the right introduction and a dog his size, he could learn to co-exist!
